Grandmaster Dr. Lily Chung Ph.D. (Geography, University of Minnesota, United States), taught college geography in the United States & Hong Kong, and metaphysics (Feng Shui, divination, I Ching) in San Francisco City College, held workshops in Europe, Canada and the United States since 1996. Lily is a world renowned expert in Chinese Metaphysics. She dedicate her life to pursue knowledge in Natural Laws such as Bazi, I-Ching and the study and understanding of the Cosmic Flow. She is also a lecturer on life-enrichment Feng Shui on cruise lines, a columnist of metaphysics since 2003 in several newspapers, and Lily is the Bazi Principal at Feng Shui Academy. Lily has used metaphysics and natural laws in the I-Ching to help thousands of people understand their life energy, achieving harmony by attuning to the cosmic energy system and following natural laws. She is currently residing in the Bay Area of California, practicing and tutoring Chinese metaphysics whilst continuing her research with writing books on Chinese Metaphysics specifically on Bazi and I-Ching. “Unveiling the Legacy of Bazi Suanming: The Evolution of Chinese Classics and Ancient Psycho-Analysis Methods”
Topic 1. The History of the Development of Chinese Classics of Bazi Suanming.
Dr. Manfred Kubny will explain the appearance of Chinese Bazi classics. It includes:
a) Who wrote which book and when? Name and authorship of the most important classics.
b) What did they say? Chapters and their contents of selected Chinese Bazi Classics, like Yuanhai Ziping 源海子平 “The Deep Ocean by Ziping” (12th cent.), Sanming Tonghui 三命通會 ”The Apprehension of the three Fates” (16th cent.), Ditiansui Chanwei 滴天髓 闡微 „Finest Explanation of the Moistering Essence of Heaven” and one more famous contemporary lecturer boof of Bazi Suanming, written by Wu Junmin 吳俊民 (fl. 20th cent.): mMingli Xinlun 命理新論 ”New Treatise about Fate Science”. The speech is mainly focused on the authentic content of Bazi classic and is giving a survey about the numerous theoretical concepts in the traditional literature about Bazi Suanming. It shows the standard of authentic Bazi theories in order to make it distinguishable from currently invented pseudo theories circulating in the internet
Topic 2. Traces of Chinese Ancient Psycho-Analysis Thinking in Syncretic Daoist Personality Diagnostic Methods – History, Theory, and Intepretation Tools of Bazi Suanming 八字算命 , The Life-Calculation by the Eight Characters
Dr. Manfred Kubny will introduce Bazi Suanming as a tool for Traditional Chinese personality diagnosis. It includes:
a) A very very short survey about the history of BZSM (Due to the first speech it will be only one reminding slide)
b) Bazi Concepts of explaining human personality: The psychological I/Self: The “Day Master” 日主 (rizhu) or the “Consciousness of Origine” 元神 (yuanshen)
c) Ten types of personality: The true meaning of the “Ten Spirits” 十神 (shishen) or the.
d) Subconsciousness equivalent: Operative 用, desiring 喜, idle 閑, taboo 忌 and hate 仇 Consciousness 神.
e) Chinese Psychopathology: “Spirits of good fortune” 吉神 (jishen) and “Demons of Calamity” 凶煞 (xiongsha) by Xu Ziping 徐子平 (fl. 10th cent.)
f) Some systemic functions in Bazi Suanming: Oedipal conflict expressed in Bazi Suanming / Regular Structures vs. Special Structures
The content explains Bazi as a psychological tool for consulting purposes. The different levels of the personality will be shown by selected items (Types of personality, Spirits and demons).
Dr. phil. Manfred Kubny, MA, is a distinguished German sinologist specializing in Traditional Chinese Life Sciences. Master Howard Choy is a trained architect and has been working at the coal-face of FS for nearly 50 years. Some of the larger works he has been involved in including the FS in upgrading Sydney’s Chinatown, the Chinese Garden of Friendship in Darling Harbour The Star Casino, Sydney and the Tiger Bay Resort Casino in Manila. Currently, he teaches (European College of FS) and works as a FS architect and consultant (ECOFS Consulting) in Berlin Germany. He is an Honorary Life Member of AFSC.
